Mediums

In 2D Visual Arts, a medium refers to the materials or supplies used to create artwork. Don't confuse it with "media," which generally relates to electronic outlets for news and entertainment or digital equipment in film.

Medium is defined as:

  1. noun. An agency or means of doing something.
  2. noun. The intervening substance through which impressions are conveyed to the senses or a force acts on objects at a distance.
  3. verb. to make a sketch, rough draft, or outline.
